We are seeking a Music Instructor to instruct our 8-14 year old summer campers on the basics of music, instrumentation and musical performance. You will teach them how to read basic music and provide hands-on instruction on how to play guitar, bass, drums and/or piano. You must have experience in music education, either as a private instructor, teacher in a school, studio or program setting, or a counselor in a similar camp setting. You should also have some experience as a musician, and a background as a professional performer is a plus. You may also have led after-school education classes.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years experience educating kids or teens in music, either in private instruction or as a school or program-based instructor, or a camp counselor
• Experience playing and performing guitar, bass, drums and/or piano (multiple instrument proficiency is a plus!)
• Music performance skills
• Strong communication and class leadership skills
• Experience working with children

Position and Schedule Expectations:

Morning camps run from 9:00am-12:00pm, and afternoon camps run from 1:00-4:30pm Monday-Friday for 2-week sessions. We have available positions for the following camp sessions:

Session 1: June 3rd-June 14th, 2024

Session 2: June 17th-June 28th, 2024

Session 3: July 15th-July 26th, 2024

Session 4: July 29th- August 9th

You will have other staff and volunteers available to assist with camp, but you should expect to be the leader of the camp. A thorough program-created curriculum is provided to instructors, and you also have some freedom in how you facilitate music instruction, based on your own experience.

Instructors are paid $800 per 2-week, half-day camp ($26.60 per hour).
